HESLY’s Hex Mesh range is defined as a unique hexagonal cellular mesh steel, made of flat bar which is designed to provide brilliant retention and reinforcement of thin wall refractories and fully complements dense hydraulic and chemically bonded refractories in resisting erosion. It acts as a surface framework to hold cement or refractory in position, and relieves stress in the lining’s upper crust, retarding erosion, corrosion, blistering and cracking.
Hot gaseous substances cannot erode the refractory because they are reflected away from the surface by the metal honeycomb- shaped grid.
The flexibility of HESLY’s Hex Mesh allows it to be rolled, and easily conforms to circular shapes. It is recommended for use when placement is spaced from the steel shell to allow room for thick insulation between the metal shell and the armoured surface.

The main style of HESLY Hex Mesh
Hexsteel: Bonding Hole Type Instead of lance tabs, holes are punched through the walls of the hexmetal cell. Refractory can then flow through these holes to achieve a bond from one cell to another. |
Hex-metal: Pronges/Lances Type this style has lance tabs protruding from the walls of the hexagonal cell to act as anchorage for the refractory.

Hex mesh is flexible and easily conforms to circular shapes, which allows it to be rolled. It is ideal for lining ducts, furnaces, reactor vessels, cyclones, flue gas lines and other high temperature equipment of virtually any shape or configuration.
Hex steel is put to use in many industries including power plants, chemical industry, cement plants, steel, petroleum, power generation and other large devices. Hex material can largely improve the heat erosion and abrasion resistance.
